Shell’s Alaska program has gone to great lengths to make sure that a worst-case scenario, such as an oil spill, never takes place. But accidents do happen, and in the unlikely event that one did, Shell will deploy its onsite oil spill response assets to manage the situation. The video above shows how it will go down.
Right now, Shell is awaiting the final approval needed to move forward with its exploratory drilling plans in Chukchi Sea this summer. The drilling program will mark Shell’s first return to the region since its failed summer 2012 campaign.
