WATCH: ‘Lost at Sea’ Sailors Attempt to Clear the Air on Sea Story

Last month, Jennifer Appel and Tasha Fuiava (and their two dogs) made national headlines after being rescued from their sailboat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean by the crew of the USS Ashland, claiming that their vessel became disabled and strayed off course five months earlier during a voyage to from Hawaii to Tahiti. But certain details of their story didn’t quite add up, raising a number of questions about their version of the events. Where were these storms that disabled their mast and flooded the engine? Why didn’t they activate their EPIRB? What’s the deal with the sharks?!

In this Today Show interview, Matt Lauer sits down with the two women in hopes of clearing the air on exactly what happened. Unfortunately, you may be left with more questions than answers. Check it out:
