The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has just announced that Russian-flagged vessels have been approved to use Admiralty digital charts and publications. The UKHO notes that over 75% of the world’s vessels over 2,000 gross tonnes now permitted to carry digital nautical publications such as lights lists, radio signals lists and tide tables.
With 2,322 vessels, the Russian Federation is the world’s eighth largest flag state and now joins a group of 69 flag states including Panama, Marshall Islands, Liberia, Singapore and Greece.
