The ex-HMS Endurance was towed out of Portsmouth Harbour one final time Wednesday headed for the breakers in Turkey.
The Endurance is an icebreaker that was in service with the Royal Navy ice patrol from 1991 until 2008 when it suffered a major flood off the coast of South America. After a long debate over the fate of the vessel, it was eventually sold for scrap in 2013.
