Not sure how we didn’t catch wind of this at the time, but this past February, an unidentified spherical object made of steel with little pointy spikes was spotted floating off Dania Beach, Florida.
Soon after the discovery, the beach and all roads going toward the beach were shut down as police, US Coast Guard, and a US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team rushed to the scene.
Fortunately it was just an inert training mine that had gone missing from somewhere. The US Navy didn’t claim it as theirs, however they also didn’t deny it was theirs at the time either.
