SEOUL (Dow Jones)–South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. (042660.SE) has received a $2 billion order to build 10 container carriers for A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S (MAERSK-B.KO), a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
“The contract value may change a bit and there will be the public announcement on Monday,” the person told Dow Jones Newswires by telephone.
Shares in the world’s No. 2 shipbuilder by sales jumped 7.1% to KRW34,650 on the news.
