LNG Regasificaton Facility to be Built at India’s Dhamra Port

Gail (India) Ltd and IndianOil announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday with Dhamra LNG Terminal Pvt Ltd (DLTPL), a company owned by Indian infrastructure conglomerate Adani Enterprises Ltd, to reserve LNG regasification capacity at a new LNG terminal planned at Dhamra Port by DLTPL.

Dhamra port was acquired by Adani Enertrprises in May 2014 and is an all-weather deep water port located on the north east coast of India in the Bay of Bengal.

This new onshore LNG regasification terminal will have an initial capacity of 5.0 MTPA.

IndianOil and GAIL would also have the option to hold equity in DLTPL at a later date, according to a press release.
