Check out this incident video show the moment a vehicle carrier hit a moored tugboat at the port of Durban in South Africa on Friday, April 13, 2018.
As you can see from the video, the tug was nearly lifted out the water when it was it amidships by the bulbous bow of the vehicle carrier, which we understand was under command of a harbor pilot at the time.
The tugboat sustained damage above and below the water line. No additional details were immediately available on Saturday.
The video was originally posted by the Police pics and clips facebook page.
The vehicle carrier appears to be the Bahamas-flagged CSCC Asia, which departed the port of Durban on Saturday, according to AIS ship tracking data.
