According to a article released by the Associated Press, Carnival Cruise lines has been awarded $24 million as the result of lawsuit against Rolls Royce, claiming a faulty propulsion system that Rolls Royce had installed aboard the Queen Mary 2.

The verdict came Wednesday after a two-week federal trial in a Miami court room where Carnival contended that the Mermaid propulsion system installed by Rolls Royals was defective, suffered breakdowns and had to be serviced more often than advertised.
