Trump’s Return to OPEC Politics Muddies Oil Talks Next Month
US President Donald Trump has raised the stakes for a meeting of an OPEC+ ministerial panel next month, with his call for the group to lower oil prices.
Two bulk carrier were damaged Sunday after the vessels collided off the coast of Pattaya in southern Thailand.
Local media reports that the Liberia-flagged MV Anton Topic and the Maltese-flagged MV CN Jumbos collided at about 10 p.m. on 30 March, causing damage to both vessels but no injuries have been reported.
Photos show a large gash in the port bow of the CN Jumbos, causing an ingress of water and the ship to list 5 degrees. All 23 crewmembers from the CN Jumbos remained on the vessel.
The Anton Topic also sustained damage to its bow, but was not taking on water and the ship was later safely anchored closer to the coast.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
