The world’s biggest containership by carrying capacity, the MV CSCL Globe, made its maiden call at the port of Felixstowe on Wednesday, marking the ship’s first port call in the UK.
At 400 meters in length, the MV CSCL Globe can carry up to 19,100 TEUs and is the first in a series of five new ships of the same size ordered by China Container Shipping Line from Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea. The CSCL ship is deployed on the Asia-Europe trade route and departed on her maiden voyage from China in December.
