Most of those ships continued to operate throughout the crisis and their crews were necessary for the safe operation of the ships but one segment of the industry was completely shut down… cruise lines.
Within weeks of the first major outbreaks, cruise lines realized they were facing one of the most difficult logistical challenges of all time: repatriating tens of thousands of seafarers. Wendover Productions tells us how they did it.
