In this video, SMIT Salvage tells the story of the amazing race to save the Modern Express, a 164-meter-long Roll-on/Roll-off vessel which earlier this year lost stability in heavy weather and was drifting dangerously fast towards the French coast in the Bay of Biscay.
To prevent the vessel from running aground, a team salvage experts from SMIT Salvage was sent to the scene within 24 hours. This video describes the spectacular salvage operation and the remarkable effort to prevent disaster:
