TUI Cruises announced today the order for two new ships from STX Europe’s shipyard in Turku, Finland.
The ships will be sister vessels of two other ships ordered in 2012, the first of which is expected to be delivered this year.
The 99,300 gross ton cruise ships will measure approximately 294 meters long by 36 meters wide. They will have 1,250 staterooms, serve 2,500 passengers and have a crew of 1,000 persons. Deliveries are planned for 2016 and 2017.
Hamburg-based TUI Cruises was founded in April 2008 as a joint venture between Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and TUI AG, and specializes in the German-speaking market.
