
South Korean Coast Guard Officer Fatally Stabbed in Skirmish with Chinese Captain
The captain of a Chinese fishing vessel has been arrested for fatally stabbing a South Korean Coast Guard officer who was trying to stop the ship in South Korean waters early Monday morning.
According to reports, the vessel was trawling for fish and crab within South Korea’s exclusive economic zone in the Yellow Sea, about 85 kilometers southwest of Socheong Island when it was confronted by Korean authorities. Reuters has the story.
