Black Sea Tensions Lead Grain Buyers to Tap Baltic States
Baltic grain exporters are seeing a boost in demand as blocked supplies from the Black Sea region are spurring buyers to seek alternative sources.
Scorpio Bulkers has just announced a USD $278 million order for 10 more bulk carriers today, all of which are due for construction at Japanese and Chinese shipyards. The order consists of four Ultramax dry bulk vessels of 64,000 DWT as well as for six Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels of 82,000 DWT as listed below.
With this new order, Scorpio Bulkers now has 26 “Ultramax”-sized and 10 “Kamsarmax”- sized vessels due for construction over the next three years.
