Maryland pilot Ron Steele was aboard the containership MSC Stella on 18 January when he hailed his colleague John Jamroga sailing on a reciprocal course just north of the Potomac River on the car carrier Marguerite Ace.

At the time of the hail, Steele noted he was inside in a fog bank while Jamroga was in clear skies.

Fortunately Jamroga has the presence of mind to capture the following sequence as Steele came out of the fog.
