Hijack Call From Ship Off Iran a False Alarm, Security Firm Ambrey Says
A hijack signal sent from a Panama-flagged petroleum products tanker off Iran was a false alarm, British maritime security firm Ambrey said on Wednesday.
Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s “Brave Tern” and “Bold Tern” jacked up at Global Tech 1 Offshore Windfarm in the North Sea off the coast of Germany. The wind farm’s array consists of 80 wind turbines each with a capacity of 5 megawatts making for total capacity of 400 megawatts.
The Gusto MCS-designed Brave Tern and Bold Tern are self-elevating and self-propelled wind turbine installation vessels, with DP2 dynamic positioning systems and fitted with a Voith Schneider propulsion. Each vessel comes equipped with an 800 tonne “wrap around the leg” offshore-rated crane with a 24-meter outreach and 102-meter over deck reach, as well as a robust, continuous type jacking system.
Thanks to Captain Tony Cato of the Brave Tern for sharing the photo.
