NYK Group, through its subsidiary NYK Bulk & Projects Carriersm, has entered into a charter agreement with Kambara Kisen for a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier, marking NYK’s first operation of such a vessel.

The ship will also feature the largest loading capacity of an Ultramax bulker and feature a versatile hull capable of transporting various cargo, including grain and ore.
The NYK Group is focused on decarbonizing its fleet and promoting clean transportation by using low-carbon and decarbonized fuels such as methanol to significantly reduce net emissions throughout the fuel lifecycle.
