Ship Rates Spiking 467% Marks Upended Trade Across Commodities
Rates to ship commodities from energy to bulk ores across the world’s oceans are heading for a rare year-end surge as conflicts, sanctions, and swelling output upend global supply lines.
Citizens were quick to call 911 after witnessing the Dockwise Swan’s ballasting operation in New York harbor. Attempting to deliver dredging equipment for the Army Corps of Engineers the heavy semi-submersible ship ballasted down to float the cargo.
Many may recall other Dockwise ships that might have benefited from a 911 call (does Inmarsat support 911?). The Mighty Servant 2 capsized after hitting an uncharted object near Indonesia and the Mighty Servant 3, that sunk offshore Angola after delivering a Global SantaFe rig.
The must see pictures of those incidents can be found here: Fogonazos – Sea Giants
