With an average speed of 27 knots, the 105-foot maxi trimaran Lending Club (ex Banque Populaire 7) has broken the course record between Newport, Rhode Island and Kitchen Shoal Beacon off Bermuda, a record previously set by the late Steve Fossett on Playstation in 2000.
The yacht completed the 635 nautical mile course on 20 April in 23 hours, 9 minutes and 52 seconds.
