On 2 June, Lamprell, the UAE-based rig builder delivered the GustoMSC NG5500C design jack-up rig Hydra to its client Seajacks on June 2nd.
Loaded on to a heavy lift ship, Hydra will soon depart for the North Sea to begin operations.
Compared to the three prior rigs Lamprell built for Seajacks, all of which were of the GustoMSC NG2500X design, Hydra’s capabilities are a bit more substantial with an enhanced jacking system, increased accommodations to support 100 persons on board – up from 90, an increase in main crane capacity from 300 tonnes to 400 tonnes and improved automation and space management.

Lamprell notes these GustoMSC-designed vessels have been specifically designed for harsh environment work and are capable
