Former President George H.W. Bush apparently ran his 38-foot boat aground on a beach in Maine while out in fog.
According to the AP, Bush’s Fidelity IV became stranded on Gooch’s Beach on Monday afternoon. A family spokesman said the the former president and some family members were aboard when the boat ran aground around 3 p.m. No one was hurt and the boat was moved to its dock in Kennebunkport a few hours later.
The spokesman said Bush was close to shore in low visibility when apparently a wave pushed his boat onto the beach.
This isn’t the first boating incident involving H.W.. The video below shows a 2009 incident in which George Senior crashed his boat into a dock at Perkins Cove:
