A Cape Cod lobster diver is thanking his lucky stars to be alive after he was apparently eaten, and then spit out, by a large humpback whale.
The story has received loads of attention after his harrowing tale went viral over the weekend. Michael Packard was diving over the coast of Provincetown, Massachusetts on Friday when he had the encounter.

According to Packard’s recounting of the incident, the whale come up from behind him and chomped down, causing everything to go black. Packard believes he was in the mouth of for about 30-40 seconds before he was spit out and recovered by a buddy who was with him at the time. Amazingly, he only suffered minor injuries.
After his story went viral, Package agreed to a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Saturday revealing that people have started calling him “Jonah.” The AMA has now racked up over 87,000 upvotes and nearly comments 9,000 comments.
