Golden Ocean Exercises Options on Three Supramax Bulk Carriers

Dry bulk shipping company, Golden Ocean Group Limited, has exercised options for three new 64,000 dwt Supramax bulk carriers with Chengxi Shipyard Co.,Ltd and China Shipbuilding and Trading Company Limited, the company said Friday.

The vessels are expected to be delivered to the Bermuda-based company during first half 2015 and an option for a fourth vessel will be decided on within four months from now. Golden Ocean says that within a few years the company will own a fleet of five to eight fuel efficient Supramax bulk carriers.
