The Lean In collection is a curation of images devoted to the depiction of empowered women, primarily focussing on occupations and fields where women go mostly unnoticed.
After a friend of Caitlin’s who was in the Marine Corps was featured in the collection, Caitlin, who is a WISTA member (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association), reached out to Getty to suggest a doing a shoot depicting marine engineers.
The collection was shot by photographer Thomas Barwick and features images of Caitlin and her colleagues during daily life working at Jenson Maritime. The behind the scenes look at some of the photos from the collection are in the video below:
