The vessel, which is currently anchored, reported the fire at 10:30 a.m., prompting a coordinated emergency response.
An MPA patrol craft, two Police Coast Guard vessels, three Singapore Civil Defence Force marine firefighting and rescue ships, and two tugboats were deployed to assist and ensure navigational safety in the area.

Additionally, the Singapore Food Agency is closely monitoring the situation and has advised nearby fish farms to take necessary precautions as a safety measure.
As of the latest update, firefighting efforts, including cooling operations, were ongoing. The MPA sad it is working closely with relevant agencies to manage the situation and ensure the tanker poses no threat to the surrounding environment.
