Coast Guard Responding to Large Barge Fire in Delaware Bay
The U.S. Coast Guard and multiple partner agencies are responding to a barge fire in Delaware Bay on Tuesday after a tug reported that the vessel it was towing had caught fire....
Last night some security camera captured video of a pier collapsing in Eastport, Maine. The U.S. Coast Guard says it was notified at approximately 2:20 a.m. Thursday morning that the end of the Eastport breakwall had collapsed into the water.
Several boats were damaged in the incident, including a 77-foot schooner named Ada C. Lore whose caretaker sustained a leg injury. The Coast Guard reports that a Eastport Port Authority pilot boat was also submerged and one unoccupied pickup truck was in the water as of Thursday morning. A sheen has been spotted in the area.
Authorities are asking people with boats in the area to remove them.
The incident is currently under investigation.
