The Malaysian Ministry of Defence has finalized new building plans today for six Second Generation Patrol Vessels with Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) capability for the Royal Malaysian Navy.
The order has been placed with Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Boustead Holdings Bhd at a total consideration of 9 billion ringgit (USD $2.8 billion).
Boustead will be responsible for the full scope of the project including the design, construction, commissioning and delivery of the vessels.
The delivery of the first ship is expected in 2017 with additional ships every 6 months thereafter.
