Seemingly just for the thrill of it, a daredevil pilot proves he can successfully land his small plane onboard a moving cargo ship.
The stunt went down in the English Channel with the pilot flying a STOL Foxbat A22 aircraft, a two-seater plane known for its short take-off and landing capabilities.
The vessel, the MV Oceanic, is typically reserved for transporting oversized offshore plants and windmill equipment. But with a large, unobstructed deck space, the vessel also happens to make for a perfect airstrip.
According to the Youtube description, the ship was sailing at about at 9 knots when the plane touched down. Once safely on deck, the aircraft is then takes off again.
MV Oceanic is part of Netherlands-based Conoship International and is of the company’s Hartman M2 Runner design.
