Japan’s Exports Fall for Fourth Month as US Shipments Tumble
Japan’s exports fell for the fourth consecutive month as US President Donald Trump’s tariffs continued to cloud the prospects for global commerce, especially for trade involving the US.
If you’re in Bremerhaven, Germany and were expecting a container shipment from Port Said on board the Gerd Maersk, it’s going to be delayed…
The 6,600 TEU containership Gerd Maersk is currently experiencing engine troubles off the northwestern coast of
Spain Portugal in about 1000 feet of water. Danish newspaper Maritime Denmark received the word from A.P. Moller РMaersk press officer, Michael Storgaard̴rd:
“We expect to Gerd Maersk will be ready to proceed over the next 24 hours.”
Given the distance from shore, Maersk Line stresses that the ship is currently in no danger, however reports indicate the Wijsmuller Salvage-tug “Rotterdam” (Station Falmouth) will arrive on scene soon, while a Spanish AHTS remains on standby.
