Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) won a $400 million order over the weekend to build a pair of high specification Friede and Goldman JU-2000E jack-up drilling rigs.
According to an exchange filing, the rigs, which are capable of drilling in 400-feet of water, are destined for use in North Sea upon their delivery in 2016 and 2017.
The order was placed by Lovanda Offshore Ltd. and Lovansing Offshore Ltd however, there was no information immediately available on where this company is from, or who owns it.
The order comes with two options for additional rigs.
In January, ZPMC announced the winning on an order from Petrofac to build a Lloyd’s Register-classed JSD 6000 high spec offshore construction vessel featuring a 2,000 mt J-Lay tower and a 5,000 mt revolving main crane. The order came in at around $200 million and is due for delivery in 2016.
