Check out this video showing what life is like aboard the Jack/St. Malo platform in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The platform was only recently delivered to the Gulf and is operated by Chevron.
The Jack and St. Malo fields are located within 25 miles of each other in approximately 7,000 feet of water in the Walker Ridge area, approximately 280 miles south of New Orleans, Louisiana. The Jack/St. Malo platform, a semi-submersible floating production unit located between the fields, acts as a hub for the 43 subsea wells, including pumps and other equipment on the seafloor. The facility is the largest of its kind in the Gulf of Mexico, with a production capacity of 170,000 barrels of oil and 42 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, with the potential for future expansion.
Crude oil and natural gas production began at the Jack/St. Malo project in December 2014.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he was reversing a license given to Chevron to operate in Venezuela by his predecessor Joe Biden more than two years ago, accusing President Nicolas Maduro of not making progress on electoral reforms and migrant returns.
