A Washington State Ferry collided with a sailboat Friday in the San Juan Islands, sinking the sailboat but luckily sparing any injuries.

The AP reports that the 382-foot ferry Hyak was en route from San Juan Island to Orcas Island when it collided with the 25-foot sailboat Friday afternoon. The two people on board the sailboat were uninjured.

The ferry launched a rescue boat and the sailor was pulled off of his boat, uninjured, according to kirotv.com

It is unclear exactly what caused the collision but reports say that there was thick fog in the area.
