VARD Holdings has announced it has been awarded two contracts for the design and construction of two offshore vessels for return customers Bourbon Offshore and Carlotta Offshore of Vietnam.

On February 7, VARD said it had secured an order from Bourbon for the design and construction of an arctic AHTS to be delivered from the Vard Brattvaag in Norway in 1Q 2016 and operated by Bourbon Offshore Norway. The AHTS, which will be designed by VARD, will have an overall length of 93.6 meters, a beam of 24 meters and a bollard pull of approximately 270 tons. The vessel also comes equipped with a hybrid propulsion system and is arranged for ROV (Remote Operating Vehicle), with accommodation capacity for 60 people. The hull of the vessel will be delivered from Vard Tulcea in Romania.

The arctic AHTS will be the eighth offshore vessel to be delivered to Bourbon from VARD.

On Monday, VARD announced it has also secured a contract from the Vietnamese company, Carlotta Offshore, for the design and construction of a Platform Supply Vessel.

The vessel will be a multifunctional PSV of VARD 1 08 design with a total length of 81 meters, beam of 18 meters and a cargo deck area of 830 m2. The VARD 1-SERIES, as they are known, comprises a wide range of PSVs designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway. The vessels are designed with high focus on cargo capacity and excellent maneuvering capabilities combined with low fuel consumption.

The 4,000 dwt PSV will be prepared for standby, rescue, firefighting and oil recovery operations, and delivery is scheduled from Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam in 2Q 2015. The order makes the second vessel ordered by Carlotta Offshore to be built at Vard Vung Tau.

These orders mark the second and third orders won by VARD in 2014, following an order placed in January for a Diving Support and Construction vessel for an unnamed international customer.
