Taiwan Shipbuilder CSBC Wins $50 Million Containership Order

About 10 hours before the stroke of midnight on 31 December, Taiwan shipbuilding firm CSBC closed out the year with a $50 million order from Singapore-based Iseaco Investment Pte Ltd to build two, 1,800 TEU containerships for its subsidiaries, YL Singapore Shipping Pte and YL Colombo Shipping Pte.

Deliveries are expected in Q1 2016 according to the Taiwan Stock Exchange filing.

According to a report in the Taipai Times, Taishin Securities Investment Advisory Company says that CSBC is building four 8,000-teu container vessels for Evergreen Marine Corp as well as two 4,600-teu ships for Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp at their yard in Greater Kaohsiung.

An additional twelve, 1,800-teu containerships are being built at CSBC’s Keelung shipyard for SITC International Holdings, according to the report.
