Swiber, the Singapore-based offshore oil and gas contractor, is making a huge leap today into the West African market after winning a US$710 million contract today from an undisclosed Houston-based energy firm. The company will be providing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) services of a new offshore processing facility and associated subsea infrastructure development at an unnamed offshore field development project.
Swiber will commence work on the project from the first quarter of 2015 and expects completion to take place in the middle of 2017.
This is by far the biggest contract the company has won this year. New contracts year-to-date total USD 1.03 billion.
