MV Kairi, (c) Damen Shipyards

MV KAIRI has left Damen Shipyards Galati for Trinidad where she and her three sister vessels still under construction will support the berthing of LNG carriers calling on Trinidad and Tobago.  The four newbuild orders were placed by ARC Towage on 31 July 2013.

KAIRI is a Damen ASD 2810 and features a minimum bollard pull of 60 tons and a maximum speed of 12.9 knots. While operating at the LNG terminal, the vessels are equipped with rig savers on all engines which are remote shut off valves to close the engine air intakes should a gas leak occur.  The vessel is equipped with gas detection systems and exterior explosion-proof lighting.
