A Boston Harbor Cruises sightseeing boat smashed into three other vessels Saturday afternoon after suffering a mechanical failure as it approached Boston’s Long Wharf pier.
According to the Coast Guard, the BHC passenger vessel Regency allided with two other Boston Harbor Cruises ships, the Rookie and Aurora, at the Long Wharf pier just after 10 a.m. Saturday. A third BHC vessel, the MV Codzilla, was also damaged.
Both the Rookie and Aurora had passengers onboard when the incident occurred, although no injuries have been reported.
The Regency was returning to Long Wharf with passengers when it reportedly suffered a mechanical failure and drifted into the three other ships, the Coast Guard said. The Regency reported minor damage above the waterline.
The Coast Guard said initially that the Rookie and Aurora did not appear to be damaged, while the Codzilla sustained only minor damage.
The incident is under investigation by the U.S. Coast Guard.
