German and Swedish Coast Guards Arrive Near ‘Yi Peng 3’ In Escalating Cable Damage Incident
The investigation surrounding Chinese bulker carrier Yi Peng 3 suspected of damaging two submarine cables in the Baltic Sea continues to expand.
The seismic survey vessel Princess Marseilles had some difficulty while mooring yesterday in Bergen, Norway, as the following video shows. The ship on the receiving end is the cruise ship Mein Schiff 1.
According to local news reports, the captain of the seismic vessel claims mechanical failure of the propulsion system was the reason for the incident.
Damage to both vessels was reported as minor.
