One crewmember is dead and another is still missing after a cargo ship carrying timber capsized Thursday in the Sea of Japan, RIA Novosti has reported.

The Combodian-flagged MV Poline capsized near the coast of North Korea during a storm as it sailed from Russia to China with a cargo of timber, RIA Novosti reports.

The report said the ship had a crew of 10 Russians and one Ukrainian.

The search operation is being carried by the Russian ship Aldan, a Japanese patrol boat and South Korea’s Golden Shake vessel, according to ITAR-TASS News Agency.
