The local Channel NewsAsia reported earlier Thursday that an explosion took place at the shipyard, citing eyewitnesses.
The two workers, employees of Haosen Marine Pte. Ltd., were pronounced dead by paramedics who arrived at the scene in response to reports received at 1:23 p.m. local time (0523 GMT), a Singapore Civil Defense Force spokesman said.
No other casualties have been found thus far, and the cause of the incident is under investigation, he said.
