After unloading scrap metal cargo at Erdemir Port, a Turkish port on the Black Sea, the cargo ship Croatia left the dock to anchor in the harbor.

Heavy seas and strong winds dragged the ship to the shore where it ran hard aground. A pair of tugs from Erdemir port were unsuccessful in preventing the grounding.
Hull damage was reported, however the crew is safe and remains onboard the ship. The salvage operations will continue when the weather gets calmer.
