SINGAPORE–Keppel Corp. Ltd. (BN4.SG) Tuesday said unit Keppel FELS Ltd. has signed a US$315 million contract to build a semi-submersible accommodation platform for Floatel International Ltd.
The Singapore-based unit has already delivered to the Norwegian customer two similar platforms with another due in the fourth quarter of next year, according to a statement to the Singapore Exchange.
Accommodation platforms provide additional quarters for exploration-and-production support personnel needed for hook-up and commissioning during well development, for maintenance and upgrading during production and during decommissioning.
