A big congrats to Groupama Sailing Team, the overall winner of the 2011/12 Volvo Ocean Race, and their French skipper, Franck Cammas. After crossing nearly 40,000 miles of ocean while in a close tactical battle with their competitors, the French team cemented their position as overall winner with a second place finish on the 9th and final leg of this historic race.
Well done and thanks to all the maritime industry companies that supported and sponsored this year’s race. Notably Maersk, Inmarsat, Berg Propulsion, Thrane & Thrane, Amartech, IXSEA, and the crew of the ZIM MONACO.
