A severely overcrowded ferry capsized and sank early Saturday morning off the coast of Tanzania, killing as many as 200 people.
The ferry, MV Spice Islanders, sank while traveling between the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba located off the coast of Tanzania.
Officials say the vessel was likely overcrowded with people and cargo at the time of the incident.
Emergency crews and civilian vessels have been searching for survivors in the area where the ferry sank. It is unclear just how many people were on board but estimates are ranging from 650 to 750.
