Trump’s Return to OPEC Politics Muddies Oil Talks Next Month
US President Donald Trump has raised the stakes for a meeting of an OPEC+ ministerial panel next month, with his call for the group to lower oil prices.
Lamprell, the UAE-based rig builder has won a new order today from ENSCO for a pair of LeTourneau-designed, Super 116E (Enhanced) Class jack-up drilling rigs. The total contract value is approximately USD $390 million and includes a six-month option for two more rigs of the same design.
The rigs are designed to operate in water depths of up to 340 feet with a rated drilling depth of 30,000 feet, and will also incorporate a number of Ensco proprietary features and specifications. Lamprell will fabricate both jackup rigs in its Hamriyah yard. Delivery of the first rig to Ensco scheduled to take place in Q2 2016 with the second rig being delivered in Q3 2016.
