China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) announced today that their subsidiary, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding received an order for 2 new jack-up rigs with an option for 2 more from Singapore-based FTS Derricks Pte, a subsidiary of Falcon Energy.
According to CSIC, the price per rig is $218 million and the rigs are of Gusto MSC CJ50-X120 design with the capability of working in 300-foot water depths in harsh environment conditions, or 400-foot depths in moderate conditions.
