Chris Bollinger, President, Bollinger Shipyards
LOCKPORT, La., Bollinger Shipyards’ Chairman and CEO Donald “Boysie” Bollinger announced the appointments of Chris Bollinger as President and Ben Bordelon as Chief Operating Officer of Bollinger Shipyards, effective August 29, 2013.
“As an on-going part of my personal transition plan and long-term growth strategy for Bollinger Shipyards, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Bollinger as our company’s new President. His proven leadership, managerial skills, and strategic vision make him the perfect choice to lead Bollinger to a successful future. Chris will beresponsible for implementing the company’s vision through the management of all operational and administrative functions of the business. His total commitment to safety, attention to quality, focus on environmental responsibility, and steadfast dedication to the highest ethical standards is what sets us apart from all others.”
“I am pleased to take on my new role as President of Bollinger Shipyards, carrying on the traditions and culture set forth by my father and grandfather,” Chris said. “I am proud to continue working with the most dedicated and talented group of shipbuilders in furthering Bollinger’s leadership in the marketplace.”
Chris has been employed at Bollinger since 1993 and has held numerous managerial and leadership positions, including most recently serving as the company’s Executive Vice President of New Construction. He will continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
Announcing the appointment of Ben Bordelon as Chief Operating Officer, Boysie Bollinger said, “Ben is a strong leader and has over 14 years of experience in the shipyard industry. His operational expertise and complete understanding of all aspects of the ship construction and ship repair business is superb.”
“Today marks the beginning of the third generation of the Bollinger Family to assume the leadership of the company. My grandfather started the shipyard in 1946 and set a foundation for us to grow into what we are today. I am excited to follow in his and my Uncle’s footsteps to continue to expand our business by responding to our customers needs, working efficiently and safely, and delivering the highest quality product with our great workforce,” Ben said.
Ben has been employed with Bollinger since 1999, and has most recently served as the company’s Executive Vice President of the Repair operations. In his new role, Ben will be responsible for all of the company’s Repair and New Construction operations. Ben will also continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
“This is an exciting time for Bollinger Shipyards, and I could not be more pleased with our leadership as we face the challenges ahead,” Bollinger said.
