OA IMR AS, a subsidiary of BOA Offshore, has entered into a shipbuilding contract today with Noryards Fosen AS for a light construction / Subsea Inspection Maintenance and Repair (IMR) vessel. The contract is valued in the range of NOK 700 million and includes two additional options.

This new IMR vessel will measure 108 meters in length by 24 meters at the beam and has been designed by NorYards in cooperation with BOA Offshore. The vessel will be equipped with a 150 ton active heave compensated crane and a smaller working crane for 3000 meter working depth, accommodation for 125 passengers, a 1500 square meter deck with moon pool and two working ROVs. The vessel will be classified by DNVGL with amongst others, the notations of Ice 1-A, Well Stimulation and LFL.

Delivery is scheduled for spring 2017 with the hull construction subcontracted to Tersan shipyard in Turkey. Final outfitting at Noryards Fosen is planned for mid 2016.

The vessel will be under BOA Offshore AS management and will be chartered to BOA Marine Services Inc.

Noryards notes this order follows two other recent orders from BOA Offshore for the 91-meter VS 491 CD-design anchor handlers Boa Bison, which was launched at Noryards Fosen last year, and the Boa Jarl, currently under construction at Noryards in Rissa.
